At The Colby School, the mission was to be geared towards creating an environment where a child was comfortable enough to learn in an balanced environment and to grow creatively without having the fear of being judged. The Colby School nurtured the idea of loving the learning process and gave its students the tools to blossom the love of learning throughout their lifetimes by not only focusing on academics but on personal growth and achievement as well.

The Colby School set forth a very specialized curriculum. Each student was empowered not only by teachers but by peers as well to strive for their personal best. The Colby School had very specific objectives that it used in order to teach its students to use accountability for their actions. This school prided itself on teaching students a sense of mutual respect, a sense of equality among all students and amongst the staff which made for a very equal playing field, ultimately eliminating the need for a tense, voracious environment.

The Colby School also had a separate yet equally involved mission statement for its preschool learners. Preschool was a place where a student could learn a sense of community as well as be comfortable enough and supported enough to spark creativity. Preschool was considered a place to enact the life skills that would set forth the students on their journey to pursue their personal best on their road to academic excellence.

Community was a very important part in all aspects at The Colby School and was intended to be seen as an extension of family. Community was there to support as well as be supported by all individuals involved. With an enriched program pushing towards personal best, it was ultimately the objective of The Colby School to send the students out into the world with the knowledge and characteristics necessary to make a big difference in the smallest of places.
