Parent Teachers Communication

Colby has an open door policy that welcomes parents

into our classrooms at any time. Teachers also welcome

opportunities to meet with parents to discuss specific

issues and are generally able to meet before or after

school.

Teachers

formally meet with each student's parents at least twice

a year. Informal meetings and phone

calls occur as often as needed or desired.

Email and our secure web site are another way teachers

communicate with parents. Once a week, home room teachers

email newsletters to their students' parents. These newsletters

summarize the coming week's lessons and events as well

as highlight the previous week's accomplishments. All teachers

check and reply to their email daily.

Email and newsletters sent to parents are also archived

on the secure section of our web site, allowing parents

to review important school information from any internet-linked

computer.
