The Colby School holds a school wide community circle in which the students get together and share different situations in which they want to show praise and appreciation for their peers. Students are also allowed to share cares and concerns with the school during this time. Each and every grade level has an individual community circle twice a day to share concerns with learning as well as appreciation and even apologies to others if the situation calls for such.
Colby is one of the only places that have integrated a community part into their learning curriculum. The Colby School seemed to believe that younger students earn a great deal through older students. Older students mentor younger students through reading buddies and other grade integrated activities.
