All of our students gather in a school-wide Community Circle at the beginning and end of each week. This is a time for students to share appreciations and concerns and to celebrate individual and classroom achievements. Each grade also has a Community Circle at least twice each day to reflect on learning, share appreciations, make apologies if necessary, and recognize individual and group goals and achievements. This process is an integral part of our daily learning and is part of what makes Colby a unique place to learn.

Along with building a school-wide sense of community, we believe it is important for older and younger students to learn from each other. Reading buddies, our Student Council, and other activities are used to bring different grades together in meaningful ways.
